  • recurrent miscarriages have occurred
  • a couple has given birth to a child with a genetic pathology
  • there have been cases of genetic disease in the family history
  • genetic screening tests or ultrasound scan have identified health problems for the baby during pregnancy that may be related to a genetic condition
